…..aaaaand you guessed it! It’s Art of the Pie by Kate McDermott! We have been utterly obsessed with McDermott’s book since it came out in October and we’re sure you have been too. Who can resist a delectable Strawberry-Rhubarb pie for dessert? Or what about a comforting classic, like Chicken Pot Pie? Just the thought of it is making us hungry.
In case you didn’t know (and you should totally check it out if you haven’t already), Art of the Pie was chosen as Food52’s inaugural cookbook to begin their cookbook club. It’s designed to act as a community for cookbook fanatics all around the world, where people can read, cook, and share recipes amongst each other. At the end of the month, Food52 invites everyone participating in the book club to chat in their online discussion thread, Hotline. Don’t miss the discussion for Art of the Pie on Monday, February 27!
Bet you’re asking yourself, “what about that award, though?” Don’t worry, we saved the best for last. And that’s that Art of the Pie is nominated as a contender for Food52’s community Piglet award! The community piglet nominations are chosen by readers like yourself and then judges divide the books into a bracket and slowly work their way through it. You can check out the community picks here and the nominations for the overall tournament here.
Best of luck to Art of the Pie! In the meantime, we’re going to whip up a Lemon Meringue pie. You know, as an act of support.
